Have you heard stories of Abraham and Moses, but not entirely clear on the historical evolution of the Jewish people? Do you feel like you might just need a guided tour to familiarize yourself with the basics of Judaism? Ever wanted to know how to affix a mezuzah on your door? What does "Kosher" mean? Why do we eat Latkes and what are the ins and outs of Shabbat? What does it really take to be Bar Mitzvah’d? Well, if the answer to any of the above questions is "yes" then this class is for you! Judaism 101 is a four course series aiming to cover the basics of Judaism, – its practices, relevance and meaning. We will cover history, Torah, Mitzvahs, Jewish lifecycle events, and much more. Tanya: A Mystical Journey into the Soul
Enrich Your Soul & Mind with a touch of Kabbalah! TANYA CLASS Practical Spirituality for Everyday Life WEEKLY CLASS! Written by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the book of Tanya is the fundamental, classic work of Chabad Chasidic philosophy. More importantly, it offers guidance for every facet of day-to-day life. While based on the kabbalistic works of the Zohar, writings of Rabbi Isaac Luria (Arizal), Baal Shem Tov, Maharal of Prague and others - its unique approach of distilling the cryptic messages of mysticism has won it acclaim as a most practical book of spirituality for layman and scholar alike. This class will lead the student through every paragraph and page, illuminating the mystical, often elusive, Talmudic, Kabbalistic, and Scriptural verses and concepts. It will be fascinating for expert and novice alike and no prior background knowledge is necessary.
